SUMMER NEWSLETTER 2022

President’s Letter

Dear Neighbors,

As Summer begins we would like to provide you an update on the planned development of the former Ridgeway Country Club. Recently, Board members attended a presentation by the developer, Farrell Building Company. Joseph Farrell and his development team discussed the plan and were very responsive to our questions and concerns. We were told that the subdivision plan will be done pursuant to current zoning which permits detached single family homes on minimum lot sizes of 30,000 square feet. The plan calls for 100 homes on the four separate parcels. A new smaller Clubhouse is planned along the Ridgeway frontage and will include tennis courts and a pool for the new homeowners. A 35 acre parcel which includes the pond and lake on Hathaway will be permanently preserved. The developer plans to submit the plan for review soon. We will keep you posted.

As you can see from the adjoining pictures we had a very successful gathering of Gedney Farms residents at Westchester Hills Golf Club earlier this month. It was a great cross-section of more than 120 new and long-time residents. The event’s success was due to the careful planning by Chairwoman Carol Corbin and Melanie Kolby and Ellen Berger. We hope this event will represent the start of more neighborhood activities that unfortunately were curtailed due to Covid.

Have a Great Summer!

John E. Sheehan

President
