The Gedney Association

Fall Newsletter 2022

President’s Letter

Dear Neighbors,

As we enter the Autumn season we soon expect the developer of the former Ridgeway Country Club property, Farrell Building Company, to submit plans for subdivison review and approval.  The Board has met informally with the developer and his team to listen to his plans and express our views and concerns.  We fully expect the City will require a comprehensive SEQRA review given the size and environmental sensitivity of the property. Regrettably, our City officials have not elected to acquire a portion or all of this beautiful property especially given the dwindling amount of open space and expanding population of our City.  We will keep the neighborhood aware of the formal submission and related Public Hearings.

On behalf of the Board I invite you to our Fall Festival on October 30th and  the 97th Annual Meeting of the Association on November 16th.

John E. Sheehan
President

DPW Water Main Update

We received notice from the Department of Public Works that the water main project on Robinhood Road, Hathaway Lane, and Gedney Esplanade is complete. DPW is expected to connect homes to the water main in the coming weeks. Once all services are connected and the entire project is complete, including Robinhood Road and Macy Avenue, the roads will be resurfaced.
